Update: CMHA Ontario’s 2017-2020 Strategic Planning Process

(Aug. 15, 2016) – As summer nears an end, now is a good time to pause and reflect on what’s occurred during the last three months and what’s ahead with respect to Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario Division’s strategic planning process.

You’ll recall that the Ontario Division Board (the Board) members and CMHA Ontario CEO Camille Quenneville hosted eight regional consultations in the spring. The consultations were an opportunity for senior branch staff and local board members to provide input about Ontario Division and the strategic planning process. At the same time, CMHA Ontario and the Board solicited feedback from members of the community mental health and addictions sector as well as non-sector partners not typically consulted but nonetheless affected by the work of CMHA Ontario. All consultations were extremely productive and yielded thoughtful comments.

Having been informed by the information gathered to date, we are now moving into the next phase of the 2014-2017 strategic plan process. This phase includes further development on emerging strategic themes and focused engagement with front-line branch staff and consumers/people with lived experience.

To help plan how this engagement with staff and consumers should unfold, the Board and CMHA Ontario is seeking advice from branch executive directors. A webinar for executive directors will take place next Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from noon to 12:30 p.m. Please confirm your attendance on the webinar here.

To help keep you and your staff informed about each stage of the strategic planning process, CMHA Ontario has created a dedicated webpage. The webpage is updated as new information becomes available so be sure to check it often. Also, follow CMHA Ontario on Facebook and Twitter (@CMHAOntario) to receive future updates about the strategic plan. You may also wish to view and share the Appendix attached to this communiqué as it explains in a visual format where we are presently in this ongoing process.
