Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the National Director, Fund Development will lead and manage the development, implementation and evaluation of the nation-wide CMHA fund development strategy. The incumbent will create a culture of fundraising and build the related capacity within CMHA and ensure a cohesive fundraising effort across Canada.
The National Director, Fund Development is responsible for directing the effort of a virtual team of fund development staff and volunteers across CMHA while supporting national, provincial and local CMHA fundraising efforts and priorities. The National Director will oversee the efforts of staff in all aspects of the fundraising collaboration and ensure best practices in fundraising and related communications for the benefit of CMHA nation-wide.
We are seeking an experienced individual with a university degree or equivalent; a minimum of 10 years of senior fundraising experience ;successful track record in identifying, cultivating and soliciting gifts in one or more of the following areas: individual, corporate, foundation or grantmanship; ability to understand and match the giving priorities of donors to the overall goals and objectives of the organization; experience in developing and implementing fundraising programs and initiatives from the ground up; proven skills in budget development for fundraising initiatives; working towards CFRE designation would be an asset; ability to work in both official languages (English and French) would be a definite asset; an understanding and/or personal experience with mental illness or mental health problems would be an asset.
