Primary and Secondary

Ontario is enhancing mental health supports in primary and secondary schools, including

  • workers who will respond within schools to address the mental health and addiction needs of students
  • mental health nurses, who will provide health related advice within schools, as well as liaise with community and institutional care accessed by students
Supported Education

Education is an essential element of recovery for people with mental health conditions and leads to better jobs. In today’s economy, meaningful workforce participation is increasingly determined by education level. Persons with disabilities, especially those with a mental health disability, are more likely than those without disabilities to be in low paying work.
