The Crisis Workers Society of Ontario is pleased to announce its 2017 Conference to be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Hamilton, Ontario on June 14, 15 & 16, 2017. Attended by over 300 delegates, this conference aims to deliver important and dynamic information, as well as offer an excellent networking opportunity to all participants. This year’s conference theme “Crisis; we are all at risk” will be focused on Wellness and Resiliency in both the people served and those who do the serving. The conference aims to underscore initiatives that advance the field of crisis work and increase the ability to partner effectively at the local level with other individuals and organizations.
The conference welcomes and encourage all CWSO members as well as speakers in the academic community, public health, consultants and others providing services in the addictions and mental health sector to share innovative and practical ideas and programs, research or other relevant content.
The emphasis at the conference will be on innovative solutions around wellness, in particular looking for presentations that bring focus to the impact of the work and healing strategies for clinicians. Presentations that advance the field of crisis work are also encouraged.
This event will be of interest to first responders, crisis workers, community organizations and consumer groups. Presentations will focus on innovative strategies and initiatives. Participants will explore new perspectives on mental health, share strategies for surviving and thriving in a changing environment and learn how to translate knowledge into practice.
