Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division’s director, quality improvement Michael Dunn will give opening remarks at the latest IDEAS Advanced Learning Program graduation this morning.
As a health care quality improvement expert, Dunn will speak to why quality improvement work and the skills acquired through the IDEAS program are needed to improve hospital-to community-transitions. He’ll also discuss the universality of quality improvement methods, the desire for clinicians to improve care and the value of quality improvement as a means to make positive system and clinical change.
As part of his director role at CMHA Ontario, Dunn is also the co-lead for the Excellence through Quality Improvement Project (E-QIP), a provincewide initiative aimed at building capacity for quality improvement within the community mental health and addictions sector.
The IDEAS (Improving & Driving Excellence Across Sectors) Advanced Learning Program is a comprehensive, evidence-based quality improvement training program for Ontario’s health professionals. It equips health care professionals with the knowledge, practical skills and tools to lead quality improvement initiatives that aim to improve patient care, experience and outcomes.
