CMHA Waterloo Wellington has launched a new online service to enhance its Here 24/7 program. Big White Wall will provide peer and professional support (with trained counsellors online at all times) plus a range of wellbeing tools – from guided therapeutic groups to self-directed workshops – to help people who are in need of mental health support.
Open to anyone aged 16 years and older, the online service is safe and anonymous, offering users the security to work on recovery in a private, discreet setting. Use of the tool will be offered to individuals contacting Here 24/7 for services, based on availability and fit.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Big White Wall has been implemented in both Australia and New Zealand. Seventy percent of members in the UK report feeling better as a result of joining the online community.
