June 14-16 in Hamilton marks the 33rd annual Crisis Workers’ Society of Ontario (CWSO) conference. The theme for this year’s conference “Crisis: We are all at risk” will focus on wellness and resiliency in both the people we serve and those who do the serving. The conference aims to underscore initiatives that advance the field of crisis work and increase the ability to collaborate effectively at the local level with other individuals and organizations.
CWSO members as well as speakers in the academic community, public health, consultants and others providing services in the addictions and mental health sector will be on hand to share their innovative and practical ideas, programs and research. Keynote speakers include Mark Henick, Dr. Lori Triano-Antidormi, Dr. Margaret McKinnon, Marina Nemat and Dr. Suzanne Stewart.
Attended by over 300 delegates, this event will be of interest to first responders, crisis workers, community organizations and consumer groups. Presentations will focus on innovative strategies and initiatives.
