With less than 100 days left until the provincial election, Ontarians are voicing their support for CMHA Ontario’s Erase the Difference campaign.
More than 8,600 Ontarians have signed CMHA Ontario’s petition calling for mental health and addictions care to be funded like physical health care.
The campaign has garnered support from individuals and organizations alike. Addictions and Mental Health Ontario, Children’s Mental Health Ontario, Jack.org and the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health are among the organizations that have shared the petition calling for equal funding for mental health and addictions care.
Candidates and MPPs have also chimed in with their support. Peggy Sattler (MPP, London West), Terence Kernaghan (NDP candidate in London North Centre) and Bill Walker (MPP, Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound) have voiced their Twitter support for the campaign.
Help ensure that mental health and addictions care is a priority for all candidates. Sign the petition at erasethedifference.ca and share it with a friend or colleague. Partner toolkits are also available for organizations who wish to support the initiative.
