Loans available to aspiring entrepreneurs with mental illness and/or addiction (updated)
Rise Asset Development (Rise) provides loans to entrepreneurs with a history of mental health and/or addiction challenges. Rise works with individuals pursuing self-employment who have a viable business plan or small business experience, but are unable to access credit from mainstream financial institutions.
RISE will assist with the idea stage and the start-up/growth stage. RISE operates throughout Ontario to provide $3,000 to $5,000 to entrepreneurs with an established business plan to determine the appropriate financing.
For example, they worked with a photographer to grow his business. Through a lease of $4,000, the business owner was able to acquire new equipment, meeting his clients’ needs and helping him to acquire new clients.
