MHCC responds to Globe and Mail column

The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) has published an “Open Letter to All Canadians” in response to a Globe and Mail article by columnist, André Picard.
In her letter, MHCC President and CEO Louise Bradley thanks Mr. Picard for his feedback (as well as that received from hundreds of other stakeholders), and responds to his observations in topic areas that include serious mental illness, the recovery model, social science vs. neuroscience, and the consultation process.
Ms. Bradley concludes her letter with the commitment to ongoing improvements to the draft Mental Health Strategy and an expression of appreciation to the support and suggestions coming from many Canadians.
