A new mental health resource aims to support educators who want to learn more about their own mental health as professionals, as well as in their role in championing the mental health and wellness of today’s young people.
Ready for Life, an online mental health resource developed for the Canadian education community, features tips, articles, quizzes and expertise from leading mental health experts for educators. The site’s content was developed by Teachers Life, in partnership with Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario and Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO).
“Working with specific professions, like the education community, is an important strategy for CMHA Ontario,” said Camille Quenneville, CEO of CMHA Ontario. “With committed partners like Teachers Life, we can help educators address their unique mental health challenges. In turn, we recognize that educators can play a key role in helping school communities reduce stigma associated to mental illness and mental health issues.”
Ready for Life is part of an ongoing collaboration between CMHA Ontario and Teachers Life, as Teachers Life is also the title sponsor of CMHA Ontario’s Talk Today Program in 16 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) communities.
Talk Today is one of the most comprehensive mental health programs for amateur sports in Canada, aiming to promote the mental health of young athletes and to spread awareness about the benefits of positive mental health throughout communities across the country.
