The shine green movement is growing rapidly. More than 40 landmarks across the province have come on board to shine green for Mental Health Week (May 2-8) since the initiative began earlier this month. Joining the list of organizations and buildings to be lit are the Local Health Integration Network in Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand, Brant, the Earth Globe, Terra Greenhouses and Ladies Elite Fitness in Hamilton; and City Halls in Burlington, Hamilton, Guelph and Toronto.
In Toronto, the Toronto 3D sign at Nathan Phillips Square and Ryerson University Image Arts Building have also come aboard. The iconic Peace Bridge and Skylon Tower in Niagara region have also committed to shine green.
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) branches urge more businesses and organizations across Ontario to partner in this project. Visit www.greenformentalhealth.ca for more information and an ongoing list of illuminated buildings.
Individuals can also take part by wearing green or taking pictures near numerous landmarks illuminated green throughout the province and sharing them on social media using the hashtag #GETLOUD.
