Ontario letter campaign rallies attention around mental health and addictions as election issue

September 8, 2011

Ontarians are making mental health and addictions an election priority via a letter campaign targeting party leaders and local candidates. Over 300 Ontarians have joined a growing movement by sending emails to political leaders and candidates.

This campaign is part of the Vote4MHA movement led by the Ontario Mental Health and Addictions Alliance, a coalition of ten organizations. The movement calls on Ontario’s political parties to develop a plan of action for mental health and addictions. To date, over 60 organizations from across Ontario have pledged support for the movement, and the momentum continues to grow.

A simple online tool makes it convenient for individuals to participate in the letter campaign. To send a letter or learn more, visit the Vote4MHA website at www.vote4mha.ca.
