The provincial government announced it is revamping its housing, children and correctional services portfolios as part of a June 13 cabinet shuffle. The government created the Ministry of Housing headed by Christopher Ballard, who is also responsible for the Poverty Reduction Strategy.
Michael Coteau takes over as Minister of Children and Youth Services and will also be responsible for anti-racism. Coteau takes over for Tracey MacCharles, who is now oversees women’s issues and accessibility. David Michael Orazietti is the new Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services taking over for Yasir Naqvi, who becomes Ontario’s Attorney General and Government House Leader.
In spite of several changes, many ministers will continue in their positions, including Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Eric Hoskins.
