Shortly after announcing his party’s funding commitment for mental health and addictions care, Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford paid a visit to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Durham Branch.
Ford toured the branch’s successful nurse practitioner-led clinic and met with front-line staff during the brief visit.
The visit followed an announcement Ford made to invest 1.9 billion over 10 years in mental health, addictions and housing supports.
In the announcement, Ford pledged to work closely with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Children’s Mental Health Ontario, Addictions and Mental Health Ontario as it makes these investments.
All three parties have now made mental health and addictions care a key issue in their election platforms.
