The Provincial Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee (HSJCC) has created a new online resource hub specifically for professionals in the policing, justice and human services sectors to provide latest updates on COVID-19 and resources to support how they operate amid the pandemic.
Via this webpage, the Provincial HSJCC is facilitating information sharing among HSJCC members in policing, courts and corrections across the province. It includes justice system updates related to COVID-19 – such as how the system, staff and services have adjusted to adhere to social distancing measures – as well as a comprehensive list of publicly-available provincial, federal, municipal and international resources.
The Provincial HSJCC will continue to update the page with resources as new COVID-19 information becomes available. To submit updates or resources, contact Candace Vena at cvena@ontario.cmha.ca.
The HSJCC Network was established in response to a recognized need in the province to co-ordinate resources and services and plan more effectively for people who are in conflict with the law. Priority consideration is made for people with a serious mental illness, developmental disability, acquired brain injury, substance use issue, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. The HSJCCs are a co-operative effort of the Ministries of the Attorney General; Children, Community and Social Services; Health; and the Solicitor General. The Provincial HSJCC functions as a planning body, supporting the efforts of the full HSJCC Network.
