Registration is open and spots are available for an upcoming conference that aims to support crisis workers and provide guidance to others willing to help. The Crisis Worker Society of Ontario annual conference takes place in Burlington from June 15 to 17. The event features a roundtable on the wellness of front-line crisis workers and presentations about how to use technology within the sector, another for family members of the criminally accused, and for those seeking harm reduction and peer-based suicide support.
CMHA Ontario is also well represented. CMHA Halton’s Jason Barr, who’s in charge of client services and program development, is talking about dealing with challenging crisis calls.
And CMHA Ontario director of public policy Uppala Chandrasekera and project manager of the HSJCC Secretariat Jenna Hitchcox are scheduled to speak about creating a provincial transition framework between police and hospitals.
Those interested in attending can register for the full conference, one day or a half-day session.
