Registration is open for a webinar being hosted by Community Care Information Management (CCIM). The Approaches to Completing OCAN Reassessments webinar will be offered four times between Jan. 11 and 18.
The invitation is open to community mental health and health service providers interested in learning more about how to approach reassessments with their clients. Registration closes on Jan. 5.
The Ontario Common Assessment of Need (OCAN) is a consumer-led, decision-making tool used by community mental health services providers. It is administered with clients to assess their unique needs and map them to services that can help address unmet needs identified by completing the assessment. The OCAN is to be re-administered with clients every six months to determine changes in needs and to see if unmet needs are being effectively addressed by services being provided.
These CCIM webinars are being held in response to expressed challenges from service providers regarding OCAN reassessments with clients. Participants of this webinar will learn more about reassessment issues as well as share strategies aimed at improving reassessment rates within community organizations. There will be practical information presented to enhance understanding of the value of reassessments, learn how reassessments can support clients’ recovery and gain insight into how reassessment aggregate data can be used to support quality improvement.
CCIM recommends that Executive Leads of organizations, OCAN trainers and representatives from the Local Health Integration Networks attend. To register for one of the four sessions, click here. Each session is 1.5 hours in length.
