An updated version of the Mental Well-Being Impact Assessment Toolkit – an impact assessment tool that enables users to consider how programs and policies will impact on the mental well-being of the general and priority populations – is now available. The toolkit has been updated to reflect new UK government policy, international evidence and the National MWIA capacity-building program.
The MWIA Toolkit is designed to support public, community and private sectors in embedding considerations of mental well-being into their work across health and local government. The Toolkit is accompanied by a checklist that can be used for rapid assessment.
The MWIA was initially developed by the UK’s National Mental Health Development Unit (NMHDU) in collaboration with the English National MWIA Collaborative. Although the National Mental Health Development Unit closed on March 31, 2011, the MWIA is now published by the English National MWIA Collaborative and available through the Association of Public Health Observatories (APHO).
