The Cybersafe Girl website is a public education program designed to provide young girls, parents, caregivers and educators with information on how girls can increase safety from violence and abuse via the Internet. The site includes information and games for girls as well as an online safety agreement that can be co-signed with a parent or educator.
The Atlantic Ministers Responsible for the Status of Women launched its Cybersafe Girl website in celebration of the first International Day of the Girl. According to 2009 Royal Canadian Mounted Police violent crime statistics, females were victims in 80 per cent of cases of luring minors over the internet.
