Advocacy for addictions education and support, advising on systemic reform for mental health and addictions supports for justice-involved individuals, and growth and development of provincial programs are among the many achievements by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario Division highlighted in its 2023-24 annual report.
Approved at CMHA Ontario’s annual general meeting this week, the 2023-24 annual report provides a snapshot of the organization’s positive impacts and successes from the past fiscal year (April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024).
This year’s annual report features:
- An overview of the policy department’s major focus areas from the year, including its pre-budget submission, a call for a provincial alcohol strategy and its iGaming submission
- Highlights from the justice policy team, including support of the operationalization of Community Reintegration Planning Tables
- The launch of the CMHA Ontario Bereavement program in association with CMHA Windsor-Essex County Branch
- The latest progress from the Excellent through Quality Improvement Project, including updates on implementation of the Community Business Intelligence platform
- The extensive growth and success of CMHA Ontario’s suite of programs: Agriculture Wellness Ontario, Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health, Mental Health Works, Mood Walks, Resilient Minds, Talk Today and Your Health Space
