Toronto – The following is a statement from Camille Quenneville, CEO, Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division, in reaction to the appointment of MPP Christine Elliott as Minister of Health and Long-Term Care.
“We’d like to congratulate Christine Elliott on her appointment as Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. The Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division is pleased with her appointment as the Minister has been a strong advocate for individuals with mental health and addictions challenges.
“As the long-time PC health critic and formerly vice-chair of the Select Committee on Mental Health and Addictions, the minister is familiar with the challenges Ontarians face accessing appropriate and timely mental health and addictions services.
“We look forward to working with and advising Minister Elliott as her government rolls outs its $1.9 billion commitment to enhance mental health and addictions services in this province.”
