August 16, 2010 is the deadline to fill out the Ontario Federation of Community Mental Health and Addiction Programs (OFCMHAP) cultural competency survey.
In June 2010, OFCMHAP released a position paper, Embracing Cultural Competence in the Mental Health and Addiction System, which examines the benefits of using a cultural competence approach to mental health and addiction service delivery. Developed by a working group of mental health and addiction service providers, the paper addresses health equity, the impact of Ontario’s changing demographics, and access-to-service issues facing many Ontarians trying to cope with addiction and/or mental illness.
This follow-up questionnaire will assist the working group to prioritize key tasks for OFCMHAP member organizations as they move forward with their work on cultural competence.
