The National Film Board of Canada is documenting the experiences of participants taking part in the “At Home” demonstration project, funded by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC).
The filmmakers have captured the stories of participants in five project cities: Moncton, Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Toronto. The film will also chronicle the challenges and successes of using a “housing first” approach which offers housing to people who were formerly or currently at risk of homelessness in these cities. The documentary will also include a blog and a bilingual Facebook page to continue the discussion and alert readers to new documentaries.
