A new podcast episode encourages new moms to benefit from Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division’s BounceBack program.
The Sinking Mothership, a weekly podcast providing firsthand experience on parenting, motherhood, lifestyle and relationships, interviewed BounceBack stakeholder engagement coordinator Hannah Matthews to discuss how the program can help new moms who may be struggling with mild-to-moderate depression or anxiety or simply need some mental health support.
BounceBack is customized to each person’s needs and delivered over the phone with a coach and through online videos and workbooks. The program includes Enjoy Your Baby, a workbook that new parents can utilize to help with postpartum worries or mild depression.
Podcast hosts Monica Montague, Ashely Byckalo and Krystal Nagy praised the accessibility of the program structure for new moms, including the fact that it can be done from home and that coaching is available on a flexible schedule.
“I wish I knew about this program when I was a few months postpartum and struggling to make it through the days without crying or feeling major anxiety about getting out of the house with baby,” the hosts said on their Facebook page.
