The Provincial Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee (HSJCC) has announced the release of a new resource to help committees improve the engagement of people who have lived experience in the human services and justice sectors.
As a cross-sectoral, collaborative network, the expertise and dedication of people with lived experience has increased the impact of HSJCC work in countless ways. Guidelines for Enhancing the Engagement of People With Lived Experience Across the HSJCC Network was developed to provide guidance to committees on engaging people with lived experience in a manner that is equitable, safe, and reduces barriers to participation. This guidebook provides resources and tools to help committees develop strategie to attract new members, provide effective orientation, address accessibility and equity concerns, provide compensation and support, and address privacy and confidentiality concerns.
This resource was developed under the direction of the Provincial HSJCC by the Persons With Lived Experience (PWLE) Advisory Committee.
