Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, central Ontario’s specialty mental health hospital and the province’s only maximum security forensic mental health facility, celebrated its recent launch of the Waypoint Research Institute. 
The Waypoint Research Institute will focus on four theme areas: risk factors and assessment, treatment and transitions, policy and knowledge translation.
The new institute will partner with other researchers, academics, hospitals and organizations to build on Waypoint’s ongoing commitment to research. Waypoint notes that it has been producing research in forensic mental health and contributing to clinical practice for nearly 40 years. The research team collectively has 265 scientific and professional publications and regularly presents internationally.
