A partnership project between Addictions & Mental Health Ontario, Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario and Health Quality Ontario will receive attention at an influential quality-improvement conference south of the border.
The Excellence through Quality Improvement Project (E-QIP) will be presenting at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) National Forum in Orlando, Florida (Dec. 9-12, 2018).
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement is an American organization committed to redesigning health care into a system without errors, waste, delay, and unsustainable costs. To accelerate efficiencies, IHI created the “triple aim,” a framework for optimizing health system performance by simultaneously focusing on the health of a population, the experience of care for individuals within that population, and the per-capita cost of providing that care.
Presenters from across the globe attend the annual IHI national forum to showcase innovative examples of quality improvement in their jurisdictions and to bring home advancements in improvement science.
Since 2016, E-QIP has been working with the community mental health and addictions sector to apply quality improvement methods. E-QIP offers quality improvement coaching support to agencies, extensive training and education programs, and an online community of practice to continue sharing QI resources.
