Reminder: Participate in 2 public reviews of the AODA

Members of the public and organizations are invited to participate in two current reviews of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Dean Mayo Moran of the University of Toronto law school has been appointed to conduct a review of the AODA.

Dean Mayo Moran has been appointed to conduct a review of the AODA. She will be conducting in person consultations in Toronto, Ottawa, London and Thunder Bay in March and April, and an online/phone consultation in April.

In addition, a review of the Customer Service Standard is being conducted by the Accessibility Standards Advisory Council/Standards Development Committee (ASAC/SDC). This committee includes leaders from the disability community and organizations that must comply with the AODA standards. Based on a review of the standard, the ASAC/SDC is proposing amendments in a number of areas, including service animals, support persons, training, and feedback process.
