On April 1, 2012 the Alcohol Policy Network (APN) will begin a transition to Public Health Ontario (PHO). The Alcohol Policy Network, a provincial network of over 600 individuals and organizations, is currently housed under the auspices of the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA). This transition is a result of OPHA’s efforts to refocus its operations in keeping with its mandate and strategic directions.
The transition is expected to benefit the APN’s clients and stakeholders through increased access to PHO’s scientists, content experts, applied research and capacity for evaluation, planning and knowledge exchange.
The goal of the Alcohol Policy Network is to promote health public policy with respect to alcohol. During the transition period, PHO, APN, OPHA and stakeholders will work closely together to ensure service continuity.
