The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health (CICMH) unveiled its new website this week, which is designed to help campus mental health practitioners in Ontario to support the needs and promote the mental health of college and university students. CICMH is working with campus mental health stakeholders to identify innovative ideas and approaches to address complex problems and gaps in campus mental health, and enhance practice and programming for Ontario’s post-secondary students. With these goals in mind, the website contains a resource database on a myriad of relevant topics, including accessibility, crisis prevention, mental health training, and peer support. The site also features an interactive map of promising mental health initiatives that are taking place on campuses across Ontario.
Over the coming weeks CICMH will also launch an online Campus Mental Health Community of Practice platform to help facilitate and support knowledge sharing and collaboration among Ontario’s post-secondary sector, which includes student services, counselling, accessibility, health, faculty, administration, student leaders and community partners. Practitioners can pre-register to join the community of practice on the website.
CICMH is a partnership between the Council of Ontario Universities, Colleges Ontario, The Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance, the College Student Alliance and the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario. The project is funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
