The Canadian Mental Health Association Kenora Branch (CMHA Kenora) achieved Accreditation with Commendation as a result of a thorough assessment of its performance when measured against comprehensive standards based on best practices. CMHA Kenora has participated in accreditation of our mental health services since its Primer in 2010.
“Quality and safety are paramount at CMHA Kenora Branch. These results demonstrate our efforts and our commitments to the district, the community and those with mental health challenges. Clients of the agency expressed a profuse appreciation of the services they received,” said Anita Webb, Executive Director of CMHA Kenora Branch. “Accreditation is voluntary and involves assessing processes we have in place, to ensure that we are providing the best quality of care and services to our community. There are a number of components to accreditation that are yardsticks – Standards, Required Organizational Practices, and Surveys. All of these came together when the two surveyors were on-site for four days in November 2012, meeting with staff, clients and their families, our Board of Directors and community partners.”
“Clients and safety are clear priorities for every team. We were impressed with the level of sensitivity and responsiveness to the unique and pressing needs of the clients. We also found a group of professionals who were diligent, thorough and vigorously committed to accreditation. Both their commitment and accomplishment should be celebrated,” said Wendy Nicklin, President and CEO, Accreditation Canada.
Canadian Mental Health Association Kenora Branch is dedicated to providing comprehensive and responsive adult mental health services that promote individual recovery. Mental health services and supports are provided to the City of Kenora and the Districts of Kenora and Rainy River.
