Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Muskoka Parry Sound has officially opened its doors as the organization’s 32nd branch in Ontario.
With the addition of this new branch, CMHA now provides service in every region in our province.
“We are thrilled to welcome CMHA Muskoka Parry Sound. With the addition of this new branch, CMHA now provides service in every region in our province,” said Camille Quenneville, CEO of CMHA Ontario Division.
CMHA Muskoka Parry Sound is the amalgamation of two long-standing health service providers in the region: the Muskoka Parry Sound Community Mental Health Services and Addiction Outreach Services Muskoka Parry Sound.
The two agencies have worked as sister agencies for many years, sharing programming, office space and services. The integration will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery by both organizations since they will be able to better assess and treat co-occurring mental health and addiction issues.
The integration will also increase the agency’s capacity to offer public education to the community and the people they serve. With national affiliation, the new CMHA branch will have access to resources, programs and best practices that can be used or adapted for the region.
In addition, CMHA Muskoka Parry Sound has recently achieved Primer Status from Accreditation Canada, recognizing the organization’s continued commitment to healthcare excellence.
The integration and accreditation will be celebrated this month with ribbon cutting events in Sundridge, Parry Sound and Muskoka, the three main area offices for CMHA Muskoka Parry Sound.
