Increased funding for community mental health and addictions services, more resources to help data collection and quality improvement in the sector, and an increase in supportive housing stock were the CMHA Ontario’s key asks in this year’s provincial pre-budget submission. The request was made at the Ontario’s government’s first pre-budget consultation, held in Toronto. Finance Minister Charles Sousa and Laura Albanese, parliamentary assistant to the finance minister, heard from about 40 people representing various interests in the private and public sector.
More public hearings are scheduled across the province by both the finance minister and the government’s Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs.
