Congratulations are in order for Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), York and South Simcoe after the branch exceeded its ambitious $125,000 fundraising target by 35 per cent at its largest event of the year.
Mental Health in Motion is York Region and South Simcoe’s biggest fundraising event for youth mental health services. With Mental Health in Motion held virtually this year for the first time, participants were able to choose how and when they wanted to get involved.
Over two months, Mental Health in Motion encouraged people to run, walk and ride – any time, any place – to raise critically-needed funds for youth mental health programs. That flexibility in how and when participants fundraised contributed to its overwhelming success, resulting in a total of $168,640 raised.
