A new emergency fund is now available to support charities and non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations who have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
United Way Centraide Canada, through its local United Way Centraide members, is now accepting applications for the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), made available through a $350 million investment by the federal government.
Local United Way Centraides will support granting programs for registered charities and qualified donees. Organizations can find their local United Way Centraide and apply here.
The Canadian Red Cross and Community Foundations of Canada are also accepting applications for separate granting streams funded through the ECSF.
Canadian Mental Health Association branches across Ontario have continued to provide services through the pandemic as calls for mental health services rise. Many programs have shifted to virtual delivery where possible to limit risk to clients and staff.
