The Evidence-Informed Healthcare Renewal Portal (EIHR Portal) has been launched to support policymakers, stakeholders and researchers in their efforts to renew, transform and innovate health systems. The EIHR Portal is a single portal that continuously updates its collection of evidence to help health care leaders interested in strengthening and reforming systems, or for those needing access to information on programs, services and drugs.
The EIHR Portal is a gateway within the McMaster Health Forum site and is an initiative of the Evidence-Informed Healthcare Renewal Roundtable. The Roundtable a collaborative effort between the McMaster Health Forum and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). The Health Council of Canada is a contributing partner to the EIHR Portal.
The EIHR Portal contains 24 types of documents, including jurisdictional reviews, stakeholder position papers, toolkits and intergovernmental communiqués. The documents address priority areas identified by federal, provincial and territorial governments, such as primary health care, patient safety, health human resources and performance indicators (e.g. timely access).
