The Global Business and Economic Roundtable on Addiction and Mental Health (the Roundtable) has released its final report, looking back over more than 10 years of achievements in workplace mental health. The report also builds on the lessons learned in the first decade, and recommends a strategy for continuing progress in mental health and safety for the next 10 years.
Due to the Roundtable’s work, four organizations in particular have focused on the issues of mental health in the workplace. They include: the Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace; the Mental Health Commission of Canada; the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario.
Recently these four organizations also announced that they will collaborate on initiatives that expand knowledge and promote the prevention, intervention and management of workplace mental health issues.
Look forward to our January issue of Mental Health Notes for a summary of the Roundtable’s final report. In the meantime, if you want to read the full report, you can go to www.mentalhealthroundtable.ca.
