A webinar on trauma-informed practice in mental health and substance use fields is now available on the British Colombia Centre for Excellence in Women’s Health (BCCEWH) website. The webinar was delivered by Nancy Poole, Director of Research and Knowledge Translation at the BCCEWH, who is well known for research, training and policy work in the areas of women’s substance use, mental health, and experiences of violence.
The webinar includes:
- An introduction to trauma-informed and specific practice
- Examples of how to embed trauma-informed and trauma-specific care in various Canadian settings
- Discussion on the need to focus on trauma-informed care in systems development work, and
- A summary of key issues, themes, resources, promising practices and tensions.
