Sign up for a workshop: “From ‘Letting It Happen’ to ‘Making It Happen’: The use of knowledge exchange and implementation science tools.”
This workshop will take place on November 18, 2015, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm, as part of the Issues of Substance (IOS) 2015 conference, in Montreal, Quebec. The workshop will be available in English only. About this workshop:
Practitioners, researchers and funders in the healthcare system face an ongoing challenge about how best to bridge research and practice. Using the Drug Treatment Funding Program as an example, and drawing on the experiences of the Provincial System Support Program, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and system partners, this workshop will share approaches to translating research and other forms of evidence into practice.
Through discussions, case studies and practice with tools during this interactive workshop, participants will learn how to:
- Systematically implement tools to increase the uptake of evidence-informed treatment practices;
- Engage stakeholders who can share experiential evidence to inform research and application into practice; and
- Create conditions that can help to bring evidence to practice in their own work.
