The Canadian Mental Health Association – Edmonton Region has joined together with another vital local mental health organization, The Support Network, to form one new agency. However, the single entity will operate as CMHA-Edmonton Region. The difference for clients is that they can now access multiple mental health supports through one door and the agency is in a stronger position to help people take control of whatever is going on in their lives through intervention and prevention.
All programs that individuals had been accessing through CMHA-Edmonton Region and The Support Network stays the same. And, importantly, the move means long-term sustainability of the Distress Line, an essential community resource which had been threatened by a lack of funding.
