In Ontario, there is a lack of reliable, evidence-based, recent statistics on violence against Aboriginal women. In Canada, statistics show that Aboriginal women experience significantly higher rates of violence compared to non-Aboriginal women. In our latest Research Report Round-up, we look at the Aboriginal Women’s Initiative review of the literature looking at inter-generational trauma, mental health, violence against women, addictions, and homelessness specifically among Aboriginal women living in the North.
