The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is currently looking for individuals interested in serving on their Board; three vacancies will be open after mid-September 2012. Responsibilities include approval of the Commission’s strategic plan; oversight of senior management including organizational effectiveness; fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities; Board self-assessment; and stakeholder relations.
The MHCC is looking for people who have leadership experience in the mental health field (or related). In addition, candidates may have lived experience of mental illness, and have a track record in working with youth. Personal attributes of diplomacy, consensus-building, integrity, credibility and a strong desire to improve the lives of the Commissions’ stakeholders are essential.
