Starting April 1, 2012, Dr. David Goldbloom will be the new chair of the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) board of directors. Dr. Goldbloom, a practicing psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and previous Vice-Chair of the MHCC board, replaces the Honourable Michael Kirby in this new role.
Dr. Goldbloom brings extensive experience to this position, including an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, a graduate degree from the University of Oxford and medical and psychiatric training from McGill University. He currently holds additional positions of Senior Medical Advisor, Education and Public Affairs, at CAMH.
Mr. Kirby will continue his work on mental health issues as the Chair of the Board of Partners for Mental Health.
