The Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS) has released a guide to explain the provincial accessibility standards for:
- Information and Communications,
- Employment, and
- Transportation
These three new standards comprise the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
The guide orients businesses and organizations to responsibilities under the new standards to identify, remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities. The guide is accompanied by an online tool or compliance wizard to assist organizations to identify their requirements.
To access the guide, see the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services website at www.mcss.gov.on.ca.
For the online tool, see www.appacats.mcss.gov.on.ca.
