The Provincial Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee (HSJCC) has launched the second issue of their electronic quarterly newsletter. The HSJCC network, which consists of 32 local committees, 14 regional committees and a provincial committee, was established in response to a recognized need to coordinate resources and services, and plan more effectively for people who are in conflict with the law. Priority consideration is given to people with a serious mental illness, developmental disability, acquired brain injury, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
The quarterly newsletter facilitates the transfer of knowledge and information across the HSJCCs in the province and shares emerging issues regarding people with complex service needs who come into conflict with the criminal justice system. The newsletter is available on the HSJCC website at www.hsjcc.on.ca.
The Provincial HSJCC also recently announced they will be hosting their bi-annual provincial conference November 21-23, 2011 at the Marriot Toronto Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto. Program details will be made available on the Provincial HSJCC website (www.hsjcc.on.ca) over the coming months.
