Registration is now open for Trauma & Resiliency: A Healing Journey, a conference hosted by the Simcoe Muskoka Human Services and Justice Coordination Committee. This special one day training event will be held on May 14, 2015 and offers frontline service providers the opportunity to learn about leading practices for supporting individuals in the criminal justice system. The conference features a keynote presentation by Dr. Wayne Hammond, executive director of Resiliency Initiatives, on a new approach for caring for traumatized clients. James Buffin and Jules Koostachin from the documentary Jingle Dress – First Dance will also be in attendance to screen excerpts from the film and respond to questions about issues faces by intergenerational survivors of the Canadian Indian Residential Schools.
