Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the free online course called “Brief Services – Foundational Principles and Therapeutic Approaches.” The course will be available to registered participants in late January 2015. This course is offered as part of the Working with Children and Youth with Complex Mental Health Needs Project and was developed through collaboration between The Hincks Dellcrest Centre, Mind Your Mind and CMHA, Ontario.
This course was designed for direct service workers who are providing counseling and social support to children and youth with complex mental health needs. Participants will learn the foundational principles of brief service interventions, which unlike traditional therapeutic approaches, are quick, culturally responsive and focus on the client’s strengths and promoting shared decision-making with the clients.
