The September edition of the Minding Our Bodies e-bulletin announces the six organizations who will receive funding to run a healthy eating pilot program this fall. It also includes an interview with case manager Chris Hill about the Active Recovery approach used by CMHA Cochrane Timiskaming Branch, information about the new physical activity recommendations in Canada’s Physical Activity Guide and the results of CMHA Ontario’s province-wide pedometer challenge. Through the creation of a toolkit and an information-sharing website, the Minding Our Bodies project helps community mental health organizations deliver programs that promote positive physical and mental health connections through physical activity and healthy eating. The project is an initiative of CMHA Ontario in partnership with the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario, Nutrition Resource Centre, YMCA Ontario and York University’s Faculty of Health, with support from the Ministry of Health Promotion.
