A new podcast by CMHA Ontario’s Talk Today program has launched today, with its inaugural episode featuring Edmonton Oilers prospect Jake Chiasson.
Chiasson, 20, was one of four Western Hockey League players on the Brandon Wheat Kings who intervened with a person struggling with thoughts of suicide in Brandon, Man. in December 2022.
In this inaugural episode, Chiasson shares his perspective on how the situation transpired, the impact to his team and the local community that followed, and shares messages about the importance of empathy toward others.
